Unique design philosophy

CHC's care model enables it to operate facilities in a different manner to which conventional "nursing homes" buildings are run. CHC creates comfortable, homely and sustainable communities rather than institutional, hospital-like buildings.

The Greenhouse Model

In the refurbishment of existing facilities, and creation of new homes, CHC embraces the Greehhouse Model. The Greenhouse Model is a model for operating a high care facility based on the Eden Principles, which blends the delivery of effective clinical care with a more holistic approach.

This provides residents with greater autonomy, dignity and choice in their daily lives. It assists to de-institutionalise long-term care by elimiating large hospital style nursing facilities and creating smaller, more liveable social settings. The primary purpose of a Greenhouse Model facility is to serve as a place where residents can receive assistance and support with activities of daily living and clinical care, without ths assistance and care becoming the sole focus of their existence.
